There was no magic of the fourth quarter for JJ McCarthy in its second beginning of the NFL, since Atlanta Falcons managed the Minnesota Vikings on the way to win their first game of the season, 22-6.
McCarthy stole a victory in Chicago last Monday after orchestrating an exciting fourth quarter against the Bears. But the Falcons had all the answers for the young Quarterback in “Sunday Night Football” to enter the victories column.
McCarthy was 11 of 21 for the air for 158 yards without touchdowns and two interceptions in a game in which he had some possibilities of large plays, but he simply did not have the right touch in his passes. With the lack of a successful career game, the Falcons sent all kinds of pressure and McCarthy fell for six catches.

But McCarthy’s opponent, Michael Penix Jr. either had the best games in the field Marshal position. Penix was only 13 of 21 for 135 yards without touchdowns or interceptions. Some releases were also lost that could have taken a touchdown before the Tyler Allgeier score at the end of the fourth quarter, which was the dagger for the Falcons.

Although the pass game was not efficient for Atlanta, the star corridor Bijan Robinson picked up the slack with 143 yards by land in 22 hauls to lead the game in that category. Drake London was the main receiver of Falcons with 49 yards in three receptions.
For the Vikings, Justin Jefferson had 81 yards, although he caught only three passes. After the second interception of McCarthy of the game on the last trip of the Vikings, Jefferson was remarkably frustrated at height, but who would not be when the offensive really clicks on the fourth quarter last week?
