Peshawar:
In a first one for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), an official woman was appointed for the high-level police superintendent (SSP) range, declared an official notification issued by the provincial police chief.
Coming from the Swabi district, Ayesha Gul belongs to the Pakistan Police Service (PSP) and has previously served as additional inspector (AIG) gender services. He is currently serving in grade 18 and recently returned to Pakistan after completing a professional training course abroad.
Gul has been published as SSP Research in Peshawar, declared the notification issued by the Inspector General of KP. Its appointment marks a significant milestone for the representation of gender in the sector of application of the Law of the Province, which has traditionally been dominated by men.
The KP Police Department described the measure as part of the ongoing efforts to promote the inclusion and progress based on merit within the force.
