Captain between five soldiers martyred in Baluchistan IED attack: ISPR

Five soldiers, including a captain, were martyred when an improvised explosive device (FDI) hit the security forces during a disinfecting operation in the Keh district of Baluchistan, said the military media wing at night.

According to public relations between services (ISPR), the FDI detonated on September 15 when the troops moved to carry out the operation in Sher Bandi, Kech. “As a result, five brave children of the ground embraced martyrdom, including a captain,” said the statement.

In a monitoring action, the security forces killed five terrorists linked to the group ‘Fitna al Hindustan’, described by the military as “an Indian indicator”. Disinfection operations in the surrounding area continued to clear the remaining militants.

Those martyrdos included Captain Waqar Ahmed, 25, from Lorelai; Naik Asmat Ullah, 35, by Dera Ghazi Khan; Lance Naik Junaid Ahmed, 29, from Sukkur; Lance Naik Khan Muhammad, 29, from Mardan; and Sepoy Muhammad Zahoor, 28, from Swabi.

“The martyrdom of our brave officers and soldiers even more strengthens our resolution,” said the ISPR, adding that Pakistan security forces “at the time with the nation are still firm to eradicate the terrorism of the country.”

Previously, thirty-one terrorists linked to the Fitna Al Khwarij network sponsored by India were killed in two separate operations based on intelligence carried out by security forces in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on September 13 and 14.

According to ISPR, the first operation took place in the Lakki Marwat district after militant presence reports. “Our troops effectively compromised Khwarij’s location, and after an intense exchange of fire, fourteen militants sponsored by the Indians were neutralized,” the statement said.

In a separate operation in the Bannu district, seventeen militants were killed during a shooting with security forces.

“Disinfection operations are ongoing to eliminate any Khwarij sponsored by the Indians in the area,” he added, emphasizing that Pakistan’s forces are determined to “eliminate the threat of terrorism sponsored by the country’s Indians.”
