- ASUS PROART PA27USD MONITOR offers a brightness of 1200 cd/m² in a compact design
- Unexpected SDI connectivity brings transmission degree workflows to an ordinary desktop monitor
- Asus balances transmission grade ambitions with daily usability in the PA27usd
Asus has expanded its Proart line with two new screens, but the smallest OLED PA27USD is the most interesting.
Positioned as a monitor for video edition, combines high brightness, HDR support and a professional port design.
The 27USD proart pa27us has a 27 -inch OLED QD panel that runs at 4K UHD resolution (3840 x 2160).
A compact screen with transmission ambitions
This commercial monitor offers a maximum brightness of 1200 CD/m² and admits HDR10 and HLG formats.
These brightness levels are typically found in larger reference degree monitors.
With this capacity, it must be adequate for video edition and photo editing, where precise colors and consistent tone mapping are essential.
An unusual aspect of the PA27USD is its connectivity, which includes a 12G-SDI port.
This port is normally limited to transmission and study equipment and can handle uncompressed videos at 12 GBIT/s.
Along with this, Asus added two USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support, each of which provides up to 96W of energy delivery.
This allows a laptop to feed, load and connect to the screen through a single cable, reducing desktop disorder.
These combined characteristics suggest that ASUS aims to balance the flexibility of transmission degree with friendly usability for the desktop.
However, how many standard work station users will really need SDI.
The company also launched the largest PQ09U cinema, a 162 -inch microled screen with the same maximum brightness of 1200 cd/m².
Although Asus did not confirm the resolution, it is supposed to be 4K UHD. Its true advantage is in a pixel tone of 0.93 mm.
This closer pixel density helps the screen to maintain the sharpness even when it is seen closely, which is important for films production environments, detection rooms or large -scale design presentations.
Both the PA27USD and the PQ09U direct creative professionals, but although the first one is positioned as a commercial monitor for those who need a compact HDR performance with versatile I/O, the second is designed for film spaces where the scale and clarity matter more than the use of the desk.
At the time of writing, ASUS has not announced availability dates or prices, leaving early impressions based mainly on specifications instead of real world performance.
