PM Shehbaz, Qatar Emir Back Unity Regional


Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Emir, his highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, regardless of the Arab Emergency Summit -islamic in Doha, convened after Israel’s recent strike over Qatar.

VicePrimer Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and the head of the Army Personnel Field, Syed Also Munir, were also present.

The prime minister strongly condemned the Israeli attack of September 9 in a residential area in Doha, which killed and injured civilians. He described it as a shameless violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and international law, and reaffirmed the full support and solidarity of Pakistan with Qatar, highlighting the historical and lasting fraternal ties between the two nations.

Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized that Israeli aggression in the Middle East must end immediately, underlining the need for unity within the UMMAH and praise Qatar for calling the summit. He also recalled Pakistan’s request from a session of the United Nations Emergency Security Council at the request of Qatar.

The Emir thanked the prime minister for attending the summit and for his visit to Doha on September 12 to express solidarity.

Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact in the midst of the regional situation.

Arab-Islamic Summit

The leaders of the Arab and Islamic states will notice that Israel’s attack against Qatar and other hostile acts threaten coexistence and regional efforts to normalize ties, according to a resolution project that will be presented at an Arab-Islamic summit on Monday.

The summit, convened in Doha to show support to Qatar after the Israeli strike aimed at the leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas based in the state of the Gulf, opened on Sunday with a meeting of foreign ministers to review the resolution draft.

The Joint Declaration of the Summit urged “all states to take all possible legal and effective measures to prevent Israel from continuing their actions against the Palestinian people”, including “reviewing diplomatic and economic relations with him and initiating legal procedures against him.”

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the “reckless and provocative” attack of Israel against Doha, describing him as a flagrant rape of sovereignty and international law of Qatar, and urged the immediate global action to take responsibility for Israel for war for war crimes.

By reaffirming Pakistan’s position, he said that the only fair and lasting solution lies in the creation of an independent Palestine state on borders prior to 1967 with Al Quds al Sharif as its capital. “That the story records this moment, when we, leaders of the Arab-Islamic world, have chosen unity, dignity and courage over silence and inaction,” he concluded.

Apart from the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz also held separate meetings with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, and the head of the Army staff, General Syed also accompanied him.

Attack to Qatar

Hamas said six people died in an Israeli strike in the group complex in Doha on Tuesday, including the son of his main negotiator and a Qatar security officer.

The attack of September 9, which Hamas killed five of its members, but saved its leadership, has pushed the Gulf Allied Allied states to close ranks, further struggling the ties between Israel and the Arab world.

Qatar condemned the attack, saying that he had attacked residential buildings that house members of the Hamas political office.

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has pointed out the unhappiness about the Israeli attack, saying that Israeli or American objectives did not advance, calling Qatar a close ally working hard to negotiate peace.

He also said that eliminating Hamas was “a worthy goal.” After the attack, he told Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad al-Thani that “such a thing will not happen again on his ground.”
