The special prime minister assistant at Blockchain and Crypto (SAPM), Bin Saqib Billal, represented Pakistan at the recent Bitcoin Asia conference in Hong Kong, emphasizing how Pakistan is hiding a different global identity in the cryptocurrency space.
He stressed that regulation would be key to general adoption, with regional and international experts recognizing their progress.
“Each country must have a basic regulatory regime through which it can contribute to exchanges, custody and stable,” he said, describing a frame as a “change of play” in Bitcoin’s global acceptance.
The Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, established earlier this year, has already positioned the country as the first independent cryptographic organism in southern Asia, a development seen as fundamental for the digital finance sector.

Saqib, while heading to the audience, called him a historical moment for the country. “This is something very close to my heart. Today it looks like a remarkable day, since Pakistan is not seen through a fear lens but of possibility and innovation,” he said.
He pointed out that Pakistan’s approach could guide other emerging economies. “It is not just a new dawn for Pakistan, but for everyone, where Pakistan can become a case study for emerging markets.
We can help Morocco, Malaysia and all other emerging economies in the way they adopt the framework of digital assets, ”he added.
Saqib also published in his mango X, calling at the moment a turning point for the digital future of Pakistan. “Once misunderstood. Now unstoppable. BTC and Pakistan are turning the script.”

His leadership also attracted the appreciation of on the other side of the border. The influencer of Indian cryptography, Bitcoin Wala, praised his role, saying: “We need leaders as Bin Saqib Billal in India too.”
With the cryptocurrency and traction of Blockchain, Pakistan is increasingly recognized as more than a participant: he is positioning himself as a potential model for digital innovation throughout the global south.
