- Kering customer data violation affected 7.4 million users in Gucci, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen
- High speakers, some higher than $ 80,000, can face specific scams due to purchase data and filtered personnel
- Keing denies rescue conversations; confirms that financial data and authorities have not been notified
The French luxury power, Kering, suffered a recently data violation, in which he lost confidential information about millions of customers from Balenciaga, Gucci and Alexander McQueen.
A group known as brilliant hunters was responsible for this attack.
This group is also responsible for rapes in Google, Adidas, Louis Vuitton and many others, through the Salesforce account commitment that has been filling the news websites lately.
Aimed at high speaker speakers
The group claims to have stolen 7.4 million unique email addresses, said the BBC in its report, insinuating that the number of victims could be similar. The publication received a sample of the stolen data, to confirm its authenticity and said that among the stolen information are the names of the people, the email addresses, the telephone numbers, the addresses and the total amount that are spent in the luxury stores worldwide.
At the same time, Kering said that financial and payment information was not stolen. The company emphasized that the relevant data protection agencies and application have been notified of the attack.
In his investigation, the BBC said that he saw customers who spent more than $ 10,000 in these stores, as well as those who spent up to $ 86,000.
“This information is particularly worrying for the victims, since it could lead to large speakers being attacked by hacks and secondary scams if the hacker decides to filter the information to other criminals,” he said.
Shinyhunters said the violation occurred in April, and in the months after the attack he has been negotiating with the company to eliminate the files in exchange for a Bitcoin payment. Kering denied any communication with the attackers, much less any negotiation on a rescue.
“In June, we identified that an unauthorized third party obtained temporary access to our systems and agreed to the limited data of the clients of some of our houses. Without financial information, such as bank account numbers, credit card information or identification numbers issued by the Government, was involved in the incident,” said a Kering to BBC spokesman.
