FIA Imran Khan questions about ‘anti-state’ publications in X

Islamabad:

The wing of cyber crimes on Tuesday of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) initiated an investigation into the alleged use of the social media account of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan to spread what the officials called an “antistatal narrative.”

According to the sources, a team of three members of Islamabad of the cybercrime of the FIA, led by Ayaz Khan, visited the Adiala prison on Tuesday to question the founder of PTI about his X mango.

The researchers asked who operated the account, where it was accessed and if the founder of PTI had authorized others to use it. They also pressed if he was aware of the content published in the account that was considered ‘anti-state’.

“My X account, which uses it, I will not reveal,” according to the reports, the founder of PTI told the team, according to the sources.

It is said that Imran Khan demanded a written questionnaire of the researchers and insisted that he would only answer in his lawyers. The FIA team remained in the Adial prison for more than an hour, added Fuentes.

The former prime minister had denounced what he called an “unconstitutional trial” within the Adiala prison and urged supporters to prepare for a mass rally in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The authorities described the publication as ‘anti-state’ content, which caused a new scrutiny in the use of its social media platforms.

In his statement, Khan said: “More than three hundred cases manufactured against me have been registered, all of which I face. I will emerge with the courts of the courts without making any treatment. Every form of oppression has been inflicted to our party. My wife and I would be released today if the cases were decided by merit.”

He accused the government of violating human rights and restricting their access to basic facilities. “My books are retained, and in eight months I was allowed to talk to my children only once. The judges in my cases have no authority; they cannot perform the judgments independently,” he said.

Calling the procedures against him unconstitutional, Khan said: “This oppressive system cannot endure for a long time. It is essential that all of you retweet the publications of my account, in a clear message of unity and alignment.”

He also ordered his party to announce a great public concentration in KP, saying that participants from all over the country should meet “to be together against the darkness that surrounds us.”

In another publication about X, Imran criticized the government’s policy to expel Pakistan Afghans and the current military operations in KP, warning that such measures were costing lives. “Due to these policies, our own people are being martyred everywhere,” he said.

He urged that “lasting peace only comes through dialogue. This approach can never establish peace.” He added that “no operation can succeed without the cooperation of interested parties, nor can any sustainable solution be found.”
