The Avalanche Foundation appointed Chris Holmes, a conservative member of the House of Lords and an defender of technological policies for a long time, to its board of directors, the company said on Tuesday.
Holmes, who has been active in the configuration of emerging technologies legislation, provides experience in governance, regulation and innovation, the company said. Its appointment underlines the impulse of the Foundation to deepen the commitment to political leaders as Blockchain adoption expands worldwide.
“We have the honor of welcoming Lord Holmes to the Avalanche Foundation Board,” said Nicolas Lemaitre, director of the Foundation, in the statement. “As Blockchain adoption accelerates worldwide, your guide will be invaluable to ensure that Avalanche continues to establish the standard of opening, accessibility and confidence in the digital economy.”
Holmes played a key role in updating the United Kingdom legal framework for digital technologies. “Inclusion is essential for innovation,” said Holmes, a former Paralympic, in the statement. “Without various voices and perspectives, the potential of the block chain and related technologies cannot be fully performed. The correct size regulation is not a barrier to innovation, it is essential for it.”
The Foundation said that the addition of Holmes to the Board strengthens its mission of building a more accessible and reliable digital economy. His experience will help the organization advance in the constructive regulatory dialogue worldwide and expand the adoption of blockchain -based tools.
