CM tap orders went out in ‘Mafia tank’



The Sindh Prime Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, presided over a meeting on Monday to review the progress in the ongoing repression against illegal hydrants and water oil tankers in the metropolitan city. The mayor of Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, reported the session that 243 illegal hydrants had been demolished so far, with 212 signed registered and 103 people arrested. He added that around 3,200 water oil tankers had registered through QR codes, which had not only improved the distribution of water but also increased the income of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation in RS60 million. The main minister ordered that the campaign against the illegal mafia of the oil tanker must continue tirelessly until the threat is completely eradicated. Separate, CM Shah announced that Sindh has enough wheat reserves, 1.3 million tons, to meet demand until February 2026, with the new expected harvest in March. By chairing a meeting in your office to review wheat shares and supply situation, it was informed that the monthly wheat requirement for Sindh and Baluchistan is 400,000 tons, while 600,000 additional tons are available in the open market. The prime minister emphasized the need to maintain strategic reservations and instructed the food department to write a wheat release policy for approval. He also directed a strict monitoring of wheat flour prices to avoid unnecessary increases and guarantee affordability for the public. CM Shah reaffirmed his government’s commitment to guarantee food security and prices stability throughout Sindh. Meanwhile, the principal minister declared that the elimination of dacoits from the Katcha areas is not negotiable and must be guaranteed at all costs. He said this as he presided over a high -level meeting in his office that was convened to review the operation ongoing against the bandits. CM Shah ordered the police to intensify intelligence -based operations (IBO), especially in river areas affected by floods. "With parts of the Katcha belt flooded due to recent floods, criminal elements probably move. This presents an opportunity to eradicate them. The operation must be accelerated," Added. CM Shah instructed the main secretary Asif Haider Shah to devise a Comprehensive Infrastructure Development Plan for the riverside belt. The plan would include the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, dispensaries and the provision of transport facilities. He assured that the rehabilitation and development work would begin as soon as the waters of the floods go back. The meeting attended Interior Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, Mayor Murtaza Wahab, the main secretary Asif Haider Shah, IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon, Interior Secretary Iqbal Memon, the main secretary, Agha Wasy, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi and other high officials. Informing the meeting, IGP Memon and the Interior Minister said that since October 2024, the operations promoted by technology had been launched in the Katcha region. Between January 2024 and September 2025, a total of 760 directed operations and 352 search operations were carried out. During this period, 159 Dacoits were killed, including 10 in Sukkur, 14 in Ghotki, 46 in Kashmore and 89 in Shikarpur, while 823 suspects were arrested. Eight more Vantos criminals were also neutralized. The law enforcement agencies recovered 962 weapons of several calibers during operations. Highlighting the strategic importance of infrastructure, the prime minister said that the construction of the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge would improve regional connectivity and contribute to restore law and order. "The main priority of the Sindh government is the maintenance of peace and security throughout the province," Added.
