The rookie of the Chicago puppies, Cade Horton, turned another gem on Tuesday night, this time, at the expense of the Pittsburgh pirates.
The 24 -year law lasted five entries and allowed a three -hits race. He hit six pirate batters, and the puppies won the 4-1 game. Horton improved to 8-1 from the break of the stars and has become increasingly reliable that someone can count in the big games.

Horton also achieved a feat that is not seen from the Bob Gibson Baseball Hall did it in 1968 with the St. Louis cardinals.
With Horton with 8-1 in his last 11 openings, he has only allowed six races in that period. OPTA statistics indicated that only Gibson had eight or more victories and six or less races in a period of 11 bets in a single season in the modern baseball era. He did it in 1968.

Gibson, of course, had one of the most dominant seasons in 1968. He had 268 strikeouts, an effectiveness of 1.12 and 13 full games. He won the Cy Young Prize of the National League and the MVP Award of the National League that year.

It is not likely that Horton wins that type of praise this season. In 21 beginnings this year, it has an effectiveness of 2.66 with 95 strikeouts.
Chicago improved 87-64 with the victory over pirates. The puppies are five games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for the central leadership of the National League and there are nine games in the parents of San Diego for the first position of the Commodines of the National League.
