Cillian Murphy says anticipation about her new film Steve It still has it to the limit, even after positive early reviews.

Steve, who is still one day in a school for children with behavioral and social difficulties, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year to obtain hot comments and currently has a 72% qualification about Rotten tomatoes.

However, Murphy says the real test is still ahead. “You are always nervous,” he said about his personal experience playing the titular character and produced the film through Big Things films, his company with collaborator Alan Moloney.

“So I have not finished until the audience sees it. I am very proud of it,” he told the press.

When asked if the production increased the pressure, he admitted: “It is doubly nervous because that is what makes it more stressful! Yes, but the reaction has been brilliant so far.”

Murphy said the reactions of educators and caregivers have been especially significant. “The teachers and social workers, you know, caregivers, really responded to the movie and are really the people who achieved it.”

His own parents, both retired teachers, have not yet seen Steve. “My mother and dad have not seen him, and they are retired teachers, so I’m anxious to see him,” he shared with a smile. When asked if he is nervous about his reaction, he joked: “No, they have seen everything, so they are well used.”

He Oppenheimer and Words of reach Star, 49, also described the director’s role in Steve As emotionally demanding.

“It’s as if you did something for 16, 17 hours a day, that’s what happens, you end … there is an exchange of atoms, I think. And you just need a break after that,” Murphy explained. “It’s not about shaking it. It’s about a lot of displaced energy, I suppose.”

Steve It will be in the selected cinemas of the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland as of September 19, 2025 before reaching Netflix worldwide on October 3, 2025.
