The founder of Outkick, Clay Travis and the ESPN star, Stephen A. Smith, ran the day in the sports of the main office tune in Summit on Wednesday with an animated and respectful debate that covered a wide range of issues, including the policy in sports, the NBA, the Trump administration plans to send the National Guard to the cities of the United States and even their respective political aspirations.

The debate continued a little less than an hour and began with recognition of the Moderator Baker Machado de Deportes of the main office about the tragic murder of the activist personality and the media Charlie Kirk, a defender of respectful public discourse.

That was exactly what was exhibited throughout the debate between two types that, although they may not agree on everything, clearly share mutual respect.

That is good, and we need more.

So, let’s take a look at some of the greatest moments of the event.

Sports policy

Obviously, the approach to this debate was politics, sports and then half of that Venn diagram. Therefore, it was appropriate to start with a question about whether sports are more political or if the media and people like Clay and Smith have done so.

“I think we are doing so, to some extent,” said Smith. “That does not mean that there is no policy involved. There is a policy involved. There is a policy involved in everything, and we understand it.”

He continued to discuss how the athletes in previous generations felt more obliged to speak due to the pressure of their respective communities, an idea that mentioned later in the debate, even saying that, in a similar aspect, it was the community pressure that forced him to be more political after the death of Trayvon Martin.

After talking about the importance of civil conversations like this, Travis talked about how sports are a “unique unite.”

“I am from the old school in some way. I think Michael Jordan was right. I think it depends on his brand, but I think the sport is a unique unite,” he said. “I just saw, unfortunately, my volunteers from the University of Tennessee drown a victory against the Bulldogs of Georgia. Great game this weekend, but every time I am in a sand, every time I am in a stadium, when you are supporting the local team, or you are sitting in the people who are with you, do not think about the race, do not think about religion, do not think about the identity Whatever, whatever, whatever, whatever.

The increase in Donald Trump’s support among black men

After a discussion about the convert of the NBA policy in politics and how that has impacted its popularity, the conversation became the increase of the black men who voted for President Donald Trump, with 21% voting for him during the presidential elections of 2024.

“I think it’s because men see the Democratic Party as Emascularized,” Travis said. “And if you want my vision of general panorama, I think that many of the struggles we are seeing in life are absent from parents and men who are not allowed to be men. I have three children that I am raising. I listen to them all the time, ‘toxic masculinity’. We do not talk about toxic femininity.

Smith admitted that he didn’t believe this was bad, but he joked saying he was “far from being correct.” He offered another explanation.

“Black men are like most men; affordability, economy. Do you understand?” Smith said. “I mean, yes, ‘How much money are you going to put in my pocket? How much in taxes are I going to pay? How can I allow myself to maintain and protect my family?’ You want street security. “

Trump National Guard Tour

Speaking of street security, the discussion also talked about the use of the president of the National Guard to stop the crime in Washington, DC, and his plan to do the same in Memphis, Tennessee.

Travis praised the president for efforts to clean the capital of the nation.

“Politicians often claim black violence and violence in the city center does not exist,” he said. “Trump is really trying to address it.”

As for Smith, he questioned the constitutionality of sending the National Guard out of Washington, DC, but said he doesn’t care if Trump decides to send troops to Chicago.

“In the city of Chicago, I don’t care what they say,” he said. “I have no problem with the shipment of the National Guard. They were a problem before Obama assumed the position, when he was a junior senator. There was a problem when he was in office for eight years like the president. They have been a problem now, and I have seen that black people have television, locally and nationally, for support, whether it is the National Guard or whatever it takes in other words, the city of Chicago has had an opportunity to do something to do something for what I Something, and does it, and does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does, and he does.

On the contrary, Smith argued that other cities with known crime problems, such as Baltimore and St. Louis, should not receive the treatment of the National Guard. He said that this is because there have been statistical improvement signs in regards to crime.

Stephen A. says that the Democratic nomination could win

One of the final issues had to do with the political aspirations of long data by Stephen A. Smith, including a possible 2028 career for president.

While Smith indicated that life is good these days, he talked about why he stopped hitting the door with questions about him that was running for a position.

“I don’t feel like being a political,” he said. “Life is very, very good. And I really do not want to compromise it at all, but several people have asked me, including my pastor, including people in this business and other people, to maintain an open mind, because you never know what the state of matters in this country will be in a couple of years doubts. It would ever apply for a position. So that’s what I did. “

While questioning his ability to raise funds, Smith said he believed total that his ideas could do the job.

“But if I didn’t have to worry about all that, and they were just my ideas and my positions against yours, I think I would win the Democratic nomination,” he said, before adding that I would really love an opportunity to go up to a stage of debate with politicians.

Then Clay was asked if he would run against Stephen A. If he entered the race, but first he noticed that there was a big thing that the two agreed.

“I think what Steven A obtains is fed up that professional politicians,” Clay said, before talking about how he was disappointed to know that many politicians are not as intelligent and brave as he had thought, but that they are “fools and cowards.”

So would it run?

“If Stephen runs, I will run and kick his A …”, said Clay.

As expected, this was a last problem in which the two did not agree.

“No, I wouldn’t,” said Smith.
