- Asrock X870 Livemixer Wifi debuts with 25 USB ports that include USB4
- Admits AMD Ryzen 7000 – 9000 processors with PCIE 5.0 and DDR5 memory
- USB 2.0 Reliance weakens long -term utility despite the set of solid characteristics
Asrock has launched the X870 Livemixer Wifi, an ATX motherboard of $ 229 aimed at content creators, but arrives with an unusual feature: support for up to 25 USB devices.
The Board includes Dual USB4 ports, a 20 Gbps port, 12 USB 5GBPS ports and 10 USB 2.0 ports.
The presence of so many USB 2.0 connectors will be seen by many as a rarity in 2025, but if you have a lot of inherited hardware, perhaps that is what you want.
More is more
In its in -depth review of the motherboard, Tweaktown He pointed out: “Consider the basic concepts. A keyboard, mouse, printer, headphones, external SSD, a DAC, scanner, etc. But think of a user, as a SIM enthusiast with many controllers. Perhaps a high -end microphone configuration or a user with capture cards. Have all those free ports for everyday things like multiple discs or high -end phonos.
The X870 Livemixer admits the Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 processors of the AMD Ryzen series through the AM5 plug and is based on the X870 chipset.
It offers four DMIM DDR5 slots that support up to 256 GB of memory at speeds greater than 8000mt/s, although AMD Notes yield is more balanced at lower speeds around DDR5-6000.
The plate comes with a PCIE 5.0 x16 slot for graphics cards, along with two PCIE 3.0 X16 slots connected to X4.
The storage options include four M.2 slots, two of which support PCIE 5.0 units, plus two SATA connectors.
For the networks there is a LAN 5GB Realtek and Wifi 7 controller with Bluetooth 5.4. The audio is handled through a Realtek Alc4082 codec with standard line, line and s/pdif ports.
The rear I/O also includes HDMI 2.1 output and a flashback BIOS button to relieve updates to future CPUs.
Tweaktown He summed up saying: “In less than $ 230, the Wi -Fi X870 Livemixer seems to be the richest in characteristics of any plaque in its price range. I cannot see any that offers so many USB ports, with double PCI 5.0 m.2 and LAN 5G support.
For me, it is a pity that Asrock was no more vision of the future with its selection of ports.
