LAHORE: The president of the Cricket Board of Pakistan (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, said that the honor of the country remained intact during the controversy of the handshake that exploded after the match of the ASIA T20 Cup of ACC against the Indian Archirival.

Naqvi, flanked by former President Ramiz Raja and Najam Sethi, told the Gaddafi stadium journalists that the referee based in Zimbabwe Andy Pycroft had formally apologized with the national captain Salman Ali Agha, the coach and the team manager, recognizing the concerns generated on the side.

“Recently, the referee of the party apologized to the captain and the team manager. We have also submitted a formal application with the International Cricket Council (ICC) to investigate the infractions that occurred during the September 14 party,” Naqvi said.

“I consulted former presidents Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja on the matter. Thank God, Pakistan’s honor has been preserved, and now we hope that the team is concentrated in their performance,” he added.

The former president and commentator of PCB, Ramiz Raja, welcomed the development, qualifying him as “Victoria for Pakistan” and urging all those interested to concentrate on the Crick instead of the distractions outside the field.

“This is a victory for Pakistan. Any pain that is felt, the approach must now return to the team’s performance. The Cricket must continue to be Crick, not a political platform. Everyone’s attention must be in the game; the team must deliver in the field,” Raja said.

He also questioned arbitration, commenting: “Andy Pycroft has shown prejudices in favor of the Indian team.”

Najam Sethi reiterated the long -standing position of the PCB: “The PCB has always maintained that politics should not take place in sport.”

The press conference followed the apologies of Pycroft through the handshake row that emerged during the box office success of the ACC Men’s T20 Cup T20 against India.

According to the PCB, Pycroft described the incident as a result of lack of communication. The ICC has indicated its willingness to conduct formal investigation into the alleged violation of the Code of Conduct.

“ICC Match referee, Andy Pycroft, has apologized to the manager and captain of the Pakistan Cricket team,” the PCB said. “He had forbidden the captains of India and Pakistan to shuddered during the party. The PCB reacted strongly to their actions. The CPI has now expressed its willingness to investigate.”

Meanwhile, the national team and support staff arrived at the stadium after receiving the authorization of PCB.

Pycroft, whom the PCB held responsible for the mismanagement of the hand tight incident, had been informed that it went to the CPI headquarters in Dubai.
