ABC has suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! For an indefinite period after the comments, the night host made about the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

The decision of the Network occurred only a few hours after the president of the Federal Communications Commission, Brendan Carr, appointed by former President Donald Trump, was reduced during his appearance in Benny Johnson’s podcast that the announcers could face fines or licensing revocations if they did not act against the Kimmel program.

In a statement on Wednesday night, ABC, which is owned by Disney, confirmed that he would replace Kimmel’s program on his calendar “in the predictable future.”

Nexstar Media, one of the greatest owners of US stations, also said he would stop issuing Jimmy Kimmel Live! Nationally, qualifying his comments as “offensive and insensitive.”

Duplicating the announcement, Sinclair Broadcast Group, which has the largest number of ABC affiliates, announced plans to issue a tribute to Kirk during the Kimmel time interval.

Trump praised the movement on social networks, describing him as “great news for the United States” and congratulating ABC for his “courage.” He made fun of the NBC Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers hosts such as “Total Losers”, a jab that occurs two months after the Stephen Colbert show was canceled.

Kimmel’s original comments occurred during his monologues on Monday and Tuesday. Referring to the suspect accused of killing Kirk, Tyler Robinson, 28, who now faces aggravated murders and other positions, Kimmel criticized Maga supporters for “trying to score political points” and mocked the vice president JD Vance for blaming the political left without evidence.

He cited the investigation attributed to the most extremist violence in the United States to extreme right groups, based on Vance’s statements as “complete shit.”

Kimmel has not yet issued a public statement about the suspension.
