QUETTA:
At least five people died and three others were injured in an explosion on Thursday near a taxi position in the area of the Chaman’s refugee field, near the Pak-Faghan border.
The explosion occurred in an occupied place near the border crossing, an area frequented by travelers and premises. Eye witnesses described the explosion as intense, saying that he reverberated through the city and its surroundings, spreading panic and fear among residents.
Emergency responders, including Levies Force, Frontier Corps (FC) and other security personnel, quickly arrived at the site and cordoned off the area. Ambulances of nearby government hospitals were sent to transport the deceased and injured to medical facilities.
Prime Minister MIR Sarfraz Bugti ordered the law enforcement agencies to carry out comprehensive investigation and submit a detailed report as soon as possible.
According to the Baluchistan Interior Department, the Blast site has been sealed, with specialized forensic teams that currently collect evidence. While the exact nature of the explosion is under investigation, police sources have indicated that the initial findings suggest that it was a suicidal bombing.
The Department of Origin has urged citizens to remain calm, avoid sharing information or non -verified rumors, and cooperating completely with the law enforcement agencies. In response to the incident, security has been tightened even more along the Pak-Faghan border.
