- Windscribe VPN has launched a new anti-fingering function
- Available for free and paid plans through its browser extension, it limits online tracking
- The new feature occurs when fisoteros no longer trust cookies
Windscribe has launched a new finger anti-huella function, which makes it much more difficult for fisoteros track it online.
Available in Chrome and Edge browser extensions, the Anti-Finger footprint, protects against the fingerprints of the browser, a technique designed to build a profile on you and follow it over the Internet.
Better yet, the new feature is also included with Windscribe for free, one of the best free VPN we have tried.
Antifingerprinting is the last of an impressive line of Windscribe characteristics designed to strengthen your online privacy. The same extension already blocks ads and trackers, avoids the leaks of Webrtc and even allows you to falsify its location, time zone and language.
This last privacy function is a welcome addition as an increasing number of websites and advertisers that pass cookies and resort to the fingerprints of the browser as a more stealthy way to track, one that, until now, has been difficult even for the best VPN services to stop.
Dactillas footprints: The websites of hidden forms online
When visiting a website, use Javascript API and HTML5 functions to collect information about you. This includes the device and the browser that is using, screen resolution, time zone, battery level, browser accessories and more. On your own, these details may not seem significant. Armed, create a unique fingerprint used to track it.
The fingerprints not only allow persistent monitoring in all places, but also allows companies to build detailed profiles for specific invasive advertising. There is also a risk that, combined with other identification information, digital footprint data can expose users to more serious threats, including identity theft and phishing attacks.
Deleting your cookies, using “incognito mode” or changing your IP address will do nothing to stop tracking the digital footprints. Not only is there an exclusion option, but most browsers and VPN do not even protect against this growing threat.
How the Windscribe anti-finge fingerprint works
Pass on the anti-Dedo footprint of Windscribe, which takes all the individual characteristics that form the fingerprint of its browser, such as its Operating system, installed sources and time zone, and falsifies them so that a precise digital footprint can never be formed.
The Anti-Finger footprint even addresses the most poacher identifiers, such as canvas, webfl and fingerprints of audio, helping him combine online and, combined with the other privacy characteristics of Windscribe. All this should allow you to navigate privately and anonymously.
The last Windscribe feature could not have arrived at a much better moment, after Google’s announcement in February 2025 that he was allowing digital footprints, giving advertisers more of their personal information to play than ever.
You don’t need to pay us (but it would be good if you did) or connect to a VPN server. Simply install our extension, log in with your account (which does not even require an email to register), and then activate anti-dingingrinting. Windscribe subscribers with the latest version of the EDGE and Chrome extensions can already benefit from the additional protection provided by anti-dingingrinting. If you still do not have a Windscribe subscription, know that free plans and payments are available.
You will find an Anti-Finger footprint by opening the Windscribe extension in its Chrome browser, by clicking on the hamburgers menu in the upper left corner and selecting privacy. It can then alternate the function as necessary, together with others, as the option to pretend its GPS location.
In its official announcement, the supplier suggests combining its browser extension with the VPN application for maximum protection. This is because “the desktop application protects its network device and traffic, while the extension ensures that your browser does not rita.”
