Intel and NVIDIA have announced a high -range association that will see the old design and manufacture custom X86 processors for NVIDIA data centers platforms, as well as build new consumption chips for the PC market.

Historical agreement, but questions remain
Companies said they plan to develop multiple generations of products together.
For the Data Center, Intel will build CPU Nvidia-Custom X86 that NVIDIA will integrate into its AI infrastructure.
For PC, Intel will manufacture X86 System-on chips that make up chiplets GPU Nvidia RTX connected through NVLink.
These processors will be marketed as Intel X86 RTX and are aimed at laptops and compact PCs.
“Intel’s architecture X86 has been fundamental to modern computer science for decades, and we are innovating in our portfolio to allow the workloads of the future,” said Intel’s CEO, Lip -bu Tan.
“The main Intel data computer platforms, combined with our process technology, manufacturing and advanced packaging capabilities, will complement NVIDIA AI and accelerated computer leadership to allow new advances for the industry.”
The investment comes in a good time for Intel, which has recently gone through some well -documented struggles that led to the United States government to intervene to acquire a 10% participation in the chips manufacturer.

Nvidia stressed, the collaboration is at an early stage and products of products are not yet established.

Intel has not confirmed whether these new chips will be completely manufactured in their own nodes or will partially subcontract to TSMC.
