- Ask Gemini at the meeting, he will inform him about the details that were lost
- Use meeting subtitles, Google work space documents, search results and more
- The availability of the launch is limited: English, desk and business for now
Some Google Workspace customers will soon have access to even more AI tools within Google Meet, including an updated assistant who hopes to answer all your questions.
The updated AI AI assistant promises to summarize the ongoing discussions and recapitulate what someone just said, identifying key food, decisions and elements of action, but could this create a new generation of lazy participants who no longer need to pay so much attention?
Gemini will also help the calls of calls to catch up with anything that have been lost if they join a late videoconference call if ‘taking notes for me’ was enabled.
Ask Gemini at the meeting now available
Google’s new Ask Gemini function will generate responses based on meeting subtitles, as well as other Google Workspace resources that the user has permission to see. Google’s search content and public websites also influence the results.
The company emphasized that the interactions and responses are private for each user, and that the subtitles and the data of the meeting are not stored after the meeting ends.
From the launch, only English language meetings will be compatible, but Google has promised support for more languages ”soon.” It is also a desktop feature, and is not available in rupture rooms “at this time.”
All this is trying to improve efficiency in a world still dominated by more meetings than we probably need, but Google is not the only company that adapts to the continuous use of video calls.
Microsoft confirmed in a recent road map entry that will unlock the web results, work files, email and people for Copilot to generate more insightful responses in team meetings.
The company is also working on automatic message summaries in chats to help users catch up more quickly, tracked separately.
Ask Gemini in Meet, you will arrive at Google Workspace Business Plus Customers First, with Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus and other accounts established to get access in the coming months.
