While the DeMartravion “Trey” family of Reed seeks answers around his death, former NFL field marshal, Colin Kaepernick, hopes to help them.
Reed, 21, was found dead hanging from a tree at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and the coroner and the state examiner of the County dictated him a suicide.
According to the police, it is not suspected that a dirty game is not suspected, despite early indignation and serious accusations about his death.

However, Reed’s lawyer, Ben Crump, said his clients have been “receiving conflicting accounts and incomplete information about the circumstances of [Reed’s] death.”
Crump said Kaepernick will pay for an independent autopsy through its autopsy initiative Know Your Derney Camp.

“Trey’s death evoked the collective memory of a community that has suffered a historical wound for many, many years and many, many deaths,” Crump said in a statement. “Peace will come only upon reaching the truth. We thank Colin Kaepernick for supporting this afflicted family and the cause of justice and truth.”
Bolivar County Forensa, Randolph Seals Jr., said at the beginning of this week that Reed did not suffer wounds consisting of an assault.
The representative Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., Requested a federal investigation, citing the “painful history of lynching and racial violence against African Americans.”

Kaepernick played for the last time at the NFL in 2016, taking 49ers to the Super Bowl in the 2012 season before losing to the Baltimore Ravens. He was 28-30 as a starter in his career, going 17-6 in his first 23 openings, but 3-16 in his last 19.
