Seven including five children die in Hafizabad’s roof collapse


At least seven people, including five children, lost their lives in a collapse of the ceiling in the Sukheke Mandi area of ​​Farooq-E-Azam, in the Punjab Hafizabad district on Saturday.

Police said the house was being used as a registration center, where a woman and her son were teaching a group of children when the roof suddenly gave way. The seven people, the tutors and five young students, were buried under the rubble and died.

The District Police officer (DPO) Atif Nazir arrived at the accident site and directed the speed rescue operation with the hope of getting the victims alive.

The authorities said an investigation had initiated to determine the structural cause of the collapse.

The incident has let the local community shaken. Rescue operations continued until night.
