The special player of the Texas Rangers player, Scott Littlefield, died Friday at age 59, the team announced on Saturday.
Littlefield was found dead in his hotel room in Houston after an apparent heart attack, said USA Today. According to reports, the MLB scout has long undergone cardiac surgery two years ago.
“Scott was one of the most respected explorers in the major baseball leagues that had an incredible impact on this organization,” said Rangers president Chris Young, to The Outlet. “His voice was influential in all aspects of our baseball operation, from professional, amateur and international exploration to the evaluation of major league players. It was an invaluable resource and advisor.”

“What is more important, was one of the most genuine and affectionate people in the game.”
The Rangers honored Littlefield as the Red Jacket Scout of the Year in 2019. Littlefield joined the organization in November 2009 and was very involved in the team’s exploration department.
Before working with the Rangers, Littlefield spent time with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves and San Diego parents organizations. Littlefield won Scout of the Year with the parents in 2007.

Littlefield is the brother of the former general manager of the Pirates, Dave Littlefield, and medical coordinator of the New York Yankees, Mark Littlefield.
The Rangers will take the field with heavy hearts on Saturday when they face the Miami Marlins at home at 7:05 pm et.

The Rangers are 79-75 and have lost their last five games. The team was in dispute for the third place of wildcard in the American League, but its loser streak has crushed its postemporal possibilities.
The Rangers are five games behind the Houston stars for the third place of Commodines in the American League. With only eight remaining games, the Rangers would need to go to a wild winning streak and get a lot of help from the teams ahead of them to make the postseason.
