LAHORE:
The attempt to rescue a PML-N-Trehed journalist for his unpleasant and derogatory comments against the people of Sindhi has disagreed the Maryam Nawaz, aimed at the Punjab government and the Sindh government led by PPP.
The first clarified that he was not playing the “card of the province”, an accusation that the second had not done explicitly through any party platform.
The journalist Rizwan Razi, who until recently was also an employee of state television, in one of his Vlogs he delivered highly animated, racist and offensive comments against the people of Sindhi.
His outburst got it before the Senate committee on procedure rules and privileges, where it was recommended that his YouTube channel be blocked and that he was on the blacklist.
By then, the members of the Movement Committee considered insufficient had already been fired. In social networks, however, many users sympathize with the ruling party criticized the insistence of the committee on the action against reason despite its unconditional apology.
Unexpectedly, Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz also jumped to the fray, expressing solidarity with Razi. She declared that Punjabis has always sacrificed for the country without promoting hatred or discord and praised Razi’s apology as a sign of “high moral character.”
Maryam criticized those who disseminated provincial prejudices and hate speeches without responsibility, while innocent Punjabis, he said, face persecution based solely on their identification cards. She emphasized that rejecting hate policy and provincial divisions is essential for a stronger Pakistan.
The narration of “Punjab identification letters based on identification letters”, although not related to the indecent comments of Sindh or Razi, seemed to be an attempt to evoke sympathy for him.
The central leadership of PPP refrained from any immediate response. According to experts, leaders were asked to react to Maryam Nawaz’s statement, but, given the new proximity of the party with PML-N, they continued to doubt.
