Auburn’s chief coach, Hugh Freeze, was not happy with the job of defeat of his team against Oklahoma on Sunday, and the SEC admitted that a crucial touchdown should not have counted.
The Sooners won 24-17 over the Tigers, thanks in part to the deception of a Touchdown by Isaiah Sategna III open. The conference later ruled the illegal work, saying that it should have been requested for unsportsmanlike behavior.
The work of the second trimester seemed to show Sategna running towards the lateral line with a substitution, but stopped near the limit. Auburn’s defense believed he was out of the game until the ball was broken and immediately threw an easy touchdown.

During his interview after the game, Freeze acknowledged that he had to “better shut up” or risk a considerable fine for criticizing the officials. But ESPN rules analyst Matt Austin called the illegal work after reviewing it in the transmission, and Freeze agreed after the game.
Freeze told journalists that he had warned his staff “the entire low season” that such plays were considered illegal and that they should not execute. However, Oklahoma’s offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle described him as a “tempo game” instead of a deception, stating that Sategna was recorded with an official before complement.

The SEC put on the side of Auburn in its ruling, citing the “football rule of NCAA 9-2, article 2,” unfair tactics “.
“Simulated replacements or substitutions can not be used to confuse opponents. You cannot use tactics associated with substitutes or the replacement process to confuse opponents. This includes any hiding tactics with or without substitution,” the SC said in a statement.

“The officiating crew did not properly interpret the action as an hiding tactics. If properly, the second downward play should have resulted in an antideportist conduct team of 15 yards evaluated from the previous place.”
Freeze was also frustrated with another play that involved Sategna. Auburn’s corner, Kayin Lee seemed to pick up a loose ball and return it for a touchdown. Auburn believed that Satsegna had caught the pass before losing control, but after the review, the officials ruled it incomplete.
“I don’t know how it is not a loose ball,” Freeze said. “I don’t know. Maybe they had a different review at the top. It seemed that he juggled at the beginning, recovered and run. We strip it. We think it should have been a touchdown.”

Unfortunately for the tigers, both calls were against them, and losing only for a touchdown caused the result to peak even more.
