ATC issues an arrest warrant against Asad Qaiser of PTI


An arrest warrant for the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) and former president of the National Asad Qaiser Assembly in the case of attack of the judicial complex by an anti-terrorist court in Islamabad on Monday.

Judge Tahir Abbas Supra ordered the arrest and qaiser production in the Court after hearing the case against the founder of PTI and other high -level figures.

The court accepted requests for exemption from PTI Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Asad Umar and Shibli Faraz leaders. A letter sent to the Ministry of Law seeking guidance on the founder of PTI has not yet received an answer.

During the hearing, lawyer Sardar Muhammad Razzaq represented Pervaiz Elahi, while PTI leaders were represented by Sardar Muhammad Masroor Khan, Amna Ali and other lawyers.

The case, registered at the Police Station of the Terrorism Department (CTD), was postponed until October 6.

Previously, a lower court in Islamabad absorbed qaiser in a case linked to the Azadi march of 2022.

The judicial magistrate, Abbas Shah, announced the reserved verdict, approving the request for acquittal submitted by Asad Qaiser in the case of March Azadi.

The case was registered at the Kohsar police station during political protests led by PTI. Qaiser was among several party leaders accused of violating public order during the march.

During the hearing, Qaiser’s legal team argued that the positions were politically motivated and lacked sufficient evidence.
