The iphone air is here, and there is one thing that everyone wants to know about Apple’s super thin phone: Is battery life good? Because when you see a device as thin as this, you should ask yourself if you can last throughout the day.
Well, we have tested Apple’s slender phone to see how well its battery is maintained in a variety of situations, and we have pleasantly surprised how it went. Apple has affirmed that it will obtain the battery life “throughout the day” of the iphone air, and in some cases that endures absolutely, although it really depends on what you are doing.
Take our web navigation test, for example. For this, we use a patented application that turns by bicycle through a series of 22 websites until the drummer completely drains. We establish the screen in 150 nits of brightness and disable the dynamic brightness, adaptive battery options, attention awareness characteristics, location and bluetooth services, and also sign out of ICloud.
In this test, the iPhone air lasted 12 hours and 2 minutes. That is only 45 minutes behind the iPhone 17, but you may have difficulty calling it “battery duration throughout the day” in this scenario. It is also easily surpassed by the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but still exceeds Edge Samsung Galaxy S25, as you can see in our painting below.
The iPhone air made much better in our video transmission test. Here, we transmit a video of nature for five hours and notice the percentage of duration of the battery of the device at the end:
As you can see, the iPhone air came out with a duration of 81%of the battery, just behind 88%of the iPhone 17 Pro Max, but far ahead of 67%of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
Extrapolating these results, we can estimate that it will get 26 hours and 19 minutes of juice while videos will be transmitted in the iPhone air, which exceeds the 22 -hour Apple estimate. That is quite impressive.
How compares
The amount of life that will obtain from a single load varies depending on what the iphone air is using, but it is clear that some tasks (such as video transmission) justify the “battery duration throughout the day” of Apple. However, it will not last so long if you spend mainly the day sailing on the web, so be sure to manage your expectations there.
Even so, squeezing so much battery from such a thin product is a remarkable achievement for Apple. If you are looking for a thin and light smartphone that still offers a respectable battery life, iPhone air could be a better option than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 EDGE, at least according to our tests.
