The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has asked the public to attend the mass demonstration, scheduled for September 27 in Peshawar, describing it as a demonstration for the freedom of the nation.
“The voice of the media has been strangled. This demonstration is for the freedom of the nation. The party has received instructions that it is a success,” said Aleema Khan on Monday while talking with journalists outside the Adiala prison, transmitting his brother’s message.
“He has said that the agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia is very important, and that Pakistan must maintain his strong global links. He also said that protecting sacred mosques is an honor for us,” he said, citing the founder of the party.
He added that the former prime minister also pointed out the developments in the case of Toshakhana. “It has been shown that a false witness. The case should end on the basis of false testimony. The former military secretary also declared all valid documents. It seems that the case could conclude in the next two or three hearings,” he added.
Aleem expressed the hope that both Imran and his wife, Bushra Bibi, were released.
The founder of PTI reiterated his statement that his party had won two thirds of the majority, but the votes were stolen. “Our votes were stolen and delivered to the thieves. The convicted persons have been imposed on the nation. Morality has been buried in Pakistan. Amends 26 has completely suppressed the judiciary,” Aleema said citing the head of the party.
Imran praised the judges who, he said, had defended themselves by the rule of law, calling them “heroes of the nation.” Aleem added that Khan had assigned the responsibility of the demonstration to the leaders of PTI Ali Amin Gandapur and Junaid Akbar. She said Khan has asked her lawyers and party members to not get involved with the military establishment.
“For three years we tried for dialogue, but instead, our group was suppressed more. There is no benefit in conversations. Whoever wants to speak, should come to jail,” Imran cited.
