- Apple has launched the beta update of iOS 26.1
- This comes with a lot of small but significant changes
- That includes a new intelligent gesture for Apple Music application
Apple could have launched iOS 26 and all its new features, but there are more on the iOS 26.1 table, which Apple has just sent to the beta testers. And this beta update comes with a lot of small adjustments and characteristics that could make a positive difference on its iPhone, particularly if it regretted the update.
One of the beta of iOS 26.1 has reached the Apple Music application. When you are playing something, now you can change clues sliding for the miniplayer. This is the little bar at the bottom of the Apple Music application that shows your music today. Pass a finger to the left or the right and you can omit your audio back or forward a track.
Apple Music is not the only application that benefits from changes in beta iOS 26.1. The Apple calendar application has been updated to change the way in which the events of its calendars are shown.
In some points of view, the events will have a color background whose tone depends on the calendar in which it originates in blue for its family and red calendar for its social, for example, instead of only a small color icon. That makes it much easier to differentiate between the calendar events separated from a glance.
What else is new?
There is also an adjustment to Apple liquid glass design in photos. There, the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen has a more shellated appearance, which makes it easier to see in a light background. It is not the first time that Apple has adjusted liquid glass to make it more readable, and it is likely that it is not the last time.
The beta update of iOS 26.1 comes with a large number of other smaller changes. That includes a redesigned sliding control to scrub through its videos in the application photos, new languages for Apple Intelligence and Airpods Live Translation, a broader eyelashes in safari and more.
In general, however, the most significant changes, those in music, calendar and photo applications, are improvements in quality of life that should make the use of Apple applications easier and more satisfactory than before.
While you can download and install the Beta iOS 26.1, you should not do it on your main device. Things can go wrong with developer Betas, and will not want to end up losing its important files because the beta caused a problem with her phone. Be sure to make your iPhone backup before installing, just to be sure.
