Drivers without a license to face jail, vehicle seizure

Islamabad:

The Faizabad Traffic Office has been linked to 11 Khidmat Marakiz police (facilitation centers) throughout the district to stop the possible corruption and provide convenience to citizens. The working hours of these centers have also extended for three hours, from 9 am to 9 pm

As of October 1, drivers without valid licenses will face strict action: strong fines, registration of a criminal case at the police station in question, confiscation of the vehicle and driver’s arrest.

The decision was taken during a high -level meeting chaired by the Inspector General of the Islamabad Police, last night, attended by high police officers, including DIG Islamabad. The PPE ordered officials to accelerate the process of issuing management licenses and guarantee the highest facilities for the public.

As part of these measures, the Faizabad Traffic Police Office will now remain open 24 hours with the F-6 Khidmat Markaz. Additional counters are also being established to handle the greatest public demand.

The PPE also announced that in the future, the services related to the traffic police will also be provided through all police stations in the Federal Capital. In addition, driver’s license facilities have now been made available to the 11 Khidmat Marakiz so that the process is easier and more accessible to citizens.

The public has been urged to obtain their driving licenses before October 1, since driving without one after the deadline will lead to the FIR registration, the arrest and confiscation of the vehicle. The traffic police are executing awareness campaigns on multiple platforms to inform citizens of these new measures.

The PPE emphasized that maintaining the law and order, combating crime and providing all possible facilities to citizens remain the main priorities of the Islamabad Police.
