Bill Ferrario Dead: former Packers Lineman dies ‘unexpectedly’

Bill Ferrario, a former NFL offensive liner who was highlighted for Wisconsin Badgers, has died, according to an online obituary. He was 47 years old.

Ferrario died “unexpectedly” on Wednesday, according to the Times-Tribuno in Scranton, Pennsylvania, where Ferrario was born. His death happened two days after his birthday.

The Green Bay Packers selected Ferrario in the fourth Ronda of the 2001 Draft. He played 16 games for the Packers in 2002, but was renounced before the start of the 2003 season.

He tried to do the Washington Redskins and Carolina Panthers, but never stayed in their lists for a long time.

Ferrario was part of the Badgers offensive line that blocked the legendary Ron Dayne corridor. The former Wisconsin star won the 1999 Heisman trophy when the Badgers appeared in Rose Bowl games in 1998 and 1999.

The Ferrario obituary appeared in Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Thursday.

“I am disconsolate. I met Billy from the fourth grade, and had a heart of pure gold and was a reliable friend,” said Ferrario’s old friend Jason Waibel, The Times-Tribune. “He would do everything possible to help you. He always made you feel important, even when everyone just wanted to make him feel important. I couldn’t ask for a best friend.

“He took the values ​​of his time raised on the west side through his life. It was the epitome of hard work, loyalty, and especially those of us who are West Siders. He made everyone around him a better person. I will miss him terribly.”
