Emma Watson has just pulled Hearts by sharing one of her biggest problems, with the Hollywood landscape and the fears she created within her, with respect to expectations.
She shared everything at Jay Shetty’s On purpose Podcast, and made this trip through the memory lane.
According to Watson, “I was reaching those sets with an expectation that I had developed in Harry Potter, which was that the people I worked with were going to be my family, and that we were going to be friends of a lifetime.”
And even in other projects, “I came to work looking for friendship,” he admitted. But “that was a very painful experience for me, outside Harry Potter and in Hollywood, which broke bones, because most people do not come to those environments that seek friendships.”
According to Watson, most people “are looking for: ‘This is my chance. This is my role. This is what I want from that. I am focused. This is my job. This is my career.’ It was not of that mentality.”
However, what led to his feeling “broken” due to the way his expectations collapsed. Still near the end of the conversation, she said: “In a way, I am proud to have done it, because I suppose that means that I have something to break.”
