Nadra launches digital services for pensioners in Karachi

The National Database and Registry Authority has announced plans to increase the number of registration counters in Karachi of the current 359 to 550 at the end of the current fiscal year, in a movement destined to facilitate citizens and improve the provision of services.

According to NADRA officials, existing counters are operational in several mega and national registration centers throughout the city. As part of a broader effort to digitize and modernize its services, Nadra will also introduce a range of new online facilities.

Among the most significant is the launch of a “life test” characteristic through the Pak’s mobile identity application, mainly designed to facilitate pensioners, particularly those who face challenges in the verification of fingerprints due to age or health conditions.

Talking with The express trusteeNadra media director, Syed Shabahat Ali, said the new feature would provide a long -term solution for older people who meet biometric or technical difficulties.

In addition, he revealed that arrangements are being made to allow close members of the family, such as a son or a daughter, help the elderly users to complete the digital verification process.

Ali urged citizens to ensure that all important events, such as births, marriages, changes in marital status and deaths, are duly registered in their respective union councils, since the precise database within the Digital System of Nadra is formed.

Nadra has begun the local manufacture of automatic ATM -style self -service to facilitate the renovations of identity cards and other registration services without the need for interaction in person.

Initially, the kiosks will be installed in the MEGA Karachi centers, followed by a broader deployment in airports, railroad stations, shopping centers and other public spaces.
