Trump receives Shehbaz in the White House


WASHINGTON:

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, received Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday for conversations in the White House in the last signal of relations with heating between Washington and the nuclear energy of southern Asia.

Sharif was among the senior officials from eight Arab and Muslim countries who met with Trump outside the UN General Assembly this week to discuss the strategy to end the Israel-Famas War in Gaza.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations.

The prime minister received a red carpet welcome when he arrived at Washington DC along with the Pakistani delegation to meet with the president of the United States.

Upon arriving at the Andrews Air Base, the prime minister was well received on the red carpet by a senior Air Force official of the United States.

The prime minister’s caravan left the air base in the US security ring. Field Marshal Syed also accompanied the prime minister.

On the side of the United States, it is likely that participants in the meeting include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, vice president JD Vance and senior defense officials, together with Trump.

This marks the third meeting between the prime minister and the president of the United States in just three days, a record, since no Pakistani prime minister has held so many meetings with a president of the United States in such a short time.

The ties between the United States and Pakistan have heated in recent months with Trump after Washington had seen for years the rival of Pakistan, India as a counterproductive of China’s influence on Asia.

Washington’s relations with New Delhi have been tested under the Republican leader on matters such as visa obstacles for Indians, high rates of tariffs imposed by Trump in the goods of India and repeated Trump’s statements that negotiated a high fire of India-Pakistan in May after the residents of the south of Asia are dedicated to their last hostilities.

The United States and Pakistan announced a commercial agreement on July 31 with a 19% tariff rate imposed by Washington. Trump has not yet reached a commercial agreement with India.
