- ExpressVPN has launched passkey login for passwordless logins

One of the best VPN providers is retiring the password, at least as a requirement.
ExpressVPN has added password login, giving users a way to log into their account without typing anything at all.
Instead of a password, you sign in using the screen lock already on your device, such as a fingerprint or face scan. That means there is nothing more to remember and nothing more to enter each time.
The change was announced on Tuesday (July 21) and is part of a broader redesign of the ExpressVPN+ dashboard, which the company is turning into a single home for your entire subscription.
What’s new in ExpressVPN+?
ExpressVPN+ now supports passcodes, so you can access your account without entering a password. The company notes that this can make life easier when setting up the VPN on a new device.
The redesigned dashboard is located behind that login. Instead of jumping between separate apps and account pages, you get a single view of what protects you, the products you’ve set up, and anything that needs attention.
Depending on your ExpressVPN plans and regions, ExpressVPN says you can get information from tools like ExpressKeys and Identity Defender, and you can also purchase and manage Holiday.com travel eSIMs from the same place.
How passwords work and why they are more secure
An access key exchanges your password for a pair of cryptographic keys. The public key resides on the service’s server, while the private key remains locked on your device, and no shared secret travels over the network for an attacker to intercept.
That design is what makes Access Keys phishing-resistant: there’s no password to fool you, and the credential only works on the genuine ExpressVPN login page.
It’s an approach that Apple, Google, and Microsoft have endorsed, and ExpressVPN has already built it into its ExpressKeys password manager.
To enable one, log in to your express vpn accountselect your profile In the upper right corner, choose Account and billingand follow the directions to add a password.
If you use ExpressKeys, you can save the passkey there along with your other logins. And if you prefer to stick with what you know, your password will still function as another way to log in.
