Farmingdale, NY – President Donald Trump, accompanied by his granddaughter Kai Trump, arrived at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York, on Friday for the opening session of the Ryder 2025 Cup.
The president, who wore a couple of golf shoes with spikes, approached Marine One Well after the US team star. Bryson Dechambeau launched her opening impulse 344 yards, landing just below the green, to begin the 45th delivery of the competition.

Friday’s appearance marked the first time Trump attended a professional golf event as a spectator since August 2023, when Liv Golf went to his Bedminster field in New Jersey. He visited his doral course in Miami the day before an LIV golf event earlier this year and played in a LIV Golf Pro-Am in his course in Washington, DC, in 2023.

Trump also attended the closing ceremony of the 2017 Presidents Cup in Jersey City, New Jersey, where the US team defeated the international team.
The Ryder Cup is also the third sporting event that Trump attended this month, all of which took place in the New York metropolitan area. He attended the final of the Male Open on September 7, and four days later, he took a game of the New York Yankees against the Detroit Tigers on the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11.
Bryson Dechambeau said Thursday that he expected Trump to “inspire us with victory”, and several players in both squads discussed the importance of Trump’s assistance.

“Having the president here, have been difficult weeks for our country with some of the things that have been happening, and having our president here and to represent the United States of America, although in a golf tournament, it is extremely important for us, and we are excited to be on the homeland with the local crowd, and we are ready to obtain this beginning,” said Scottie Scheffler on Tuesday of Bethpage on Tuesday.

The Captain of the US team. UU., Keegan Bradley, added: “I am deeply honored that the president of the United States will support our team in the Ryder Cup. I think that every time it can be close to a current president it is something quite phenomenal, but when he is representing his country in a place like Bethpage Black in New York, having the president there to support him is something absolutely incredible. Incredible.
Even Team Europe, Tyrrell Hatton, showed his emotion.
“I think it only shows how special is the Ryder Cup and in which sporting event it has become,” he said. “I mean, Trump loves golf, so it is not really a surprise that he wants to be here and enjoy the atmosphere. So, I mean, it will be a good day, and I think that all those who will enjoy the atmosphere in one way or another. And I see nothing bad in wanting to be part of it.”
However, Robert MacIntyre de Team Europe called Trump as “just another spectator.”

The Ryder Cup will conclude on Sunday, since the European team seems to be the first team of the road to win the event since they did it in 2012. No one has gone behind their backs since Europe won three directly from 2010 to 2014.
