ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan’s Supreme Court has dismissed Mir Ali Madad Jattak’s appeal against the election tribunal’s decision that declared results from 15 polling stations in PB-45 Quetta to be rigged.
According to a 25-page verdict written by Justice Aqeel Abbasi, the election tribunal enjoys the authority of a civil court under the Election Act. Furthermore, the court also has the authority to record statements in electoral dispute cases.
The court stressed that the facts cannot be ignored on technical grounds. He confirmed that the electoral dispute case was submitted to the electoral tribunal according to the law.
