- Samsung One UI 8.5 has leaked in a practical video
- There are some notable design changes along the way
- You could also add a double touch gesture
With an UI 8 (based on Android 16) now it reaches more and more Samsung Galaxy phones, we are now beginning to see leaks around the main update of UI 8.5 that is expected to be officially falling in 2026.
Sammobile’s team has managed to make an early test compilation that works in a Galaxy S25 Ultra, and seems a fairly important visual review, even if this is far from being the final launch of the software.
Some icons are dropping their text labels, for example, while there is a more extensive use of droplet shadows and floating menus. The quick configuration panel design that falls at the top now can also be customized to a greater extent.
Other changes that have been seen are a bit more subtle, such as an adjustment to the percentage icon of the battery. In general, the interface looks a little cleaner and easier to displace, even if there are more changes between now and its final launch.
Double-tap to launch

Attend
An additional excavation of Android Authority has revealed that an UI 8.5 could also add a double touch gesture, which is exactly what it seems: it would touch twice on the back of its Galaxy phone to start some characteristic or function.
Some of the characteristics that can apparently launch using this gesture are the flashlight, the notification panel and the screen capture function. You can also use it to quickly start an application of your choice, if you wish.
Of course, this is a characteristic that has been available on iPhones, pixels and other models for several years, so it is strange that Samsung has taken so long to add it (although you can already obtain third -party applications to do the same job).
We really do not have any clue on when an UI 8.5 will be implemented, but taking into account that an UI 9 (based on Android 17) will be presented in mid -2026, this update could see daylight at the beginning of next year.
