PM Shehbaz orders a roadmap to boost meat exports to Malaysia


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting through a video link from New York to discuss the improvement of commercial relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.

He highlighted the significant potential of growth in bilateral trade and pointed out that the government is actively taking practical measures to completely take advantage of these opportunities.

He instructed the relevant authorities to develop a viable and processable plan specifically to export Pakistani meat to Malaysia. The prime minister’s office (PMO) declared that Prime Minister Shehbaz directed the preparation and submission of a comprehensive roadmap with special emphasis on promoting exports of Pakistani beef to Malaysia.

The meeting included an in -depth review of commercial ties between Pakistan and Malaysia. The prime minister received a detailed informative session on Pakistan’s export capabilities within the Malaysian market.

The prime minister said that “Pakistan and Malaysia enjoy deep fraternal relationships that cover several decades. He pointed out that Malaysia has always supported Pakistan in times of necessity, and Pakistan has this support in high esteem.”

In October 2024, Pakistan and Malaysia conducted bilateral conversations, and both leaders announced that Pakistan would export halla meat worth $ 200 million annually, along with 100,000 metric tons of Basmati rice to Malaysia.
