Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s prime minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, has asked the chief of the Army personnel, Syed to also solve the problem of the imprisoned detention of the president of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan.
“You need to solve the problem of Imran Khan. The 250 million people in this country are your army,” he said while heading to a great party concentration in Peshawar on Saturday.
Gandapur described the struggle of the chief of PTI as a “war for true freedom”, urging the Judiciary to give decisions in accordance with the law and the Constitution.
“Maintaining the Constitution is a duty for all in this country. We have raised our voice for the Constitution, and we will continue to do so. The greatest number of human rights violations has happened here,” he added.
He also highlighted PTI’s position during the previous tensions with India, noting that “the entire nation was united and respecting the institutions at that time.”
He reiterated that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government does not support any military operation, and emphasizes that “operations are not a solution to these problems.”
The rally, held at Ring Road in Peshawar, saw the participation of PTI leaders, including the central figures Salman Akram Raja, Barríster Gohar, Junaid Akbar, the former president of the National Assembly Asad Qaiser, the spokesman of PTI Sheikh Waqas Akram, USMAN Dar, renana to give and Sindh Leader Halem Halem Halem Halem Halem Haleem Sheikh, between others.
The provincial president of PTI, Junaid Akbar, speaking at the event, said that KP was from PTI before and still was. “We will cut the hands of those who speak against the founder of PTI. “We will not accept any operation under any circumstance. Bring the commander of the body who carried out the negotiations. Our problem is not with the institutions, but with the people who need to be corrected. Those who negotiate with terrorists must be responsible,” he said with respect to the military operation.
Similarly, Salman Akram Raja added that the PTI categorically rejects any military operation. “An operation at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should not occur. I met the founder three days ago in jail … He said he will never lean. Today, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is soaked with blood, and Baluchistan is also suffering.”
The former president of Na Asad Qaiser said that the PTI does not want any operation in the province. “We are tired of wars. We support the improvement of relations with Afghanistan. We hope that Ali Amin poses this problem with the federal government.”
The president of the PTI, the lawyer Gohar, reiterated that the elections of February 8 “was stolen.” “The entire world knows that 200 million people want ‘prisoner number 804’. Ensuring justice has become extremely difficult. We will go to the last mile for the release of PTI’s founder. Obtaining justice is our constitutional and state right.”
The rally also witnessed organizational challenges. According to reports, young male workers of PTI entered the women’s section, which caused the police to intervene.
In response, many activists left the place before the directions of the central leaders. Around 800 police and traffic personnel were deployed to maintain security.
The rally caused the partial closure of the ring road and the highway, which caused traffic interruptions. Many participants, including party leaders, had to walk up to two kilometers to get to the place due to vehicles parked along the highway.
