The New York Giants rookie seafood, Jaxson Dart, had an immediate impact on the first start of his NFL career on Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Dart led the giants on a nine play and 89 yards trip and finished it with a 15-yard touchdown race to help put New York 7-0 at the beginning of the first quarter. It was 2 of 2 passes for 20 yards and had three haules for 28 yards on its first trip.

It was a good sign for the giants, who have been looking for a constant spark in the offensive. New York decided that this was the week to start the former Ole Miss prominent after Russell Wilson’s bad play in the defeat of team 22-9 against the Kansas City Chiefs last week.
He entered the game full of trust.
“I’m ready,” Dart told reporters on Wednesday. “It was nothing more. You always say like, ‘I’m going to prepare every week’. But in reality, you have different responsibilities as a starter.”

The team entered the game 27 at points scored and 12th in yards won. Wilson led the league in air yards before the team’s game against the Chiefs.
“I want to do everything possible to be a spark,” Dart said. “I want to create emotion in the field. I want to be explosive when there are opportunities and try to bring some arrogance.”
The chief coach of the giants, Brian Daboll, would not explain why the decision came now.

“You just need to go out and do your job: just make good decisions, throw the ball where you need to throw it, make loose plays if you need to make loose moves and take care of it, and have no more than that,” Daboll said. “There will be many things to learn. I have done this once before. It’s not perfect, but I know it’s doing everything you can do to prepare to play this game and that’s all you can ask for.”
