A beet at Bethpage Black suddenly became a war, but Europe was late to retain the Ryder Cup.
The euro ended on day two with 11.5-4.5, the biggest deficit that a US team has faced in the current format of 28 points of the event. However, after Viktor Hovland had to retire due to a neck injury, Harris English sat on the bank and his game declared himself a draw due to the rules of the event.
Therefore, Europe needed only two points of 11 to be the first repeated champion since Europe was three consecutive from 2010 to 2014.

However, it was undoubtedly a routine to obtain those two points. The United States won three consecutive points, with Cam Young and Justin Thomas, both Birdie in 18 to win their games, 1 Up.
Bryson Dechambeau defended from 5 to seven to tie his match with Matt Fitzpatrick, who could have won if he had not lost a foot of 3 feet in 17 while he was up.
Ludvig Aberg beat Patrick Cantlay, 2 and 1, to give Europe 13.5 points, but after that, Europe did not lead any of the remaining matches. Suddenly, the United States closed its gap only three points.
But in one to 18, Shane Lowry won the hole against Russell Henley to tie his party. Get the need to retain the cup.

It is also the first time that a visitor team won a Ryder Cup since the incredible return of Europe in 2012 in Medinah.
Europe won each of the first four sessions, a first Ryder Cup. Three of those sessions were 3-1 scores.
