JAFFAR EXPRESS resumes the service after road repairs

The Jaffar Express resumed the operations on the Quetta-Peshawar route, five days after the service was suspended.

Railway officials said the train had been arrested due to the destruction of a road and a bridge near Spezand in a bomb explosion on September 23. They confirmed that the repair and restoration work on damaged infrastructure has now been completed.

The suspension occurred after the terrorists exploited a section of the railway line near Spezand, which left several injured passengers and interrupted the operations along the route.

The explosion occurred between the degari Cross and Sariab railway stations, damaging the road and derailing the engine and five train coach to Peshawar. The authorities believe that the explosion took place from 30 to 45 minutes before the train reached the site.

The authorities said the device was an improvised explosive planted near the road, which detonated when the train passed. The explosion caused four Bogies to derail and leave several passengers, including women and children, injured.
