Moo (Over)! Street cows take over the streets

Sanghar:

The city of Sanghar is under an unusual type of siege, not criminals or politicians, but cows. Yes, hundreds of street cows have turned the streets into their personal recreation courtyard, leaving citizens, merchants and defenseless motorists.

Property of politically well connected people who run cattle pens, four powerful herds roam the city as they had the place. From the bazaars to the alleys, the animals walk freely, eating fruits and vegetables as if the markets were open buffets. “They eat more tomatoes than we sell in one day,” complained a frustrated seller.

But the damage is not only for the profits of the merchants, the motorists say that the traffic jams are now “jams of cattle”, with herds that block the roads and occasionally the cars. Pedestrians are not saved either, many have ended at the Civil Hospital after not planned meetings with these unexpected “street fighters.”

If that were not enough, the waste left by these wandering giants have added smell and disorder to the already tense environment of the city. Residents fear an increase in diseases, but they joke that at least cows are fertilizing roads.

Despite repeated complaints to the Municipal Committee, no measures have been taken. Some citizens, tired of waiting, suggested selling animals and depositing money in the national treasure. “At least the country would get some of our misery,” joked a lawyer.
