‘Uraan Pakistan’ criticized as unrealistic vision

Pakistan’s Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer MP Liaquat Baloch criticized the Prime Minister’s decision. "Uran Pakistan" initiative, comparing it with "a flight without wings."

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Baloch said progress cannot be achieved without political stability, and warned that lofty aspirations would remain unfulfilled without fundamental reforms. He called for 2025 to be declared a year of action to address critical international issues, including the Kashmir and Palestine conflicts. Highlighting the Gaza crisis, Baloch condemned the world community’s indifference, which he said continues to deepen the suffering of Palestinians. Reflecting on 2024, he noted that public grievances had worsened and basic political and democratic rights had been further restricted. The JI leader urged the federal government to prioritize inclusivity and transparency in Balochistan’s mining exploration projects, emphasizing the need to involve local communities in decision-making. Baloch also highlighted the quick promulgation of the Madrasa Registration Ordinance, calling it a vital step towards reform and progress.
