- VPS accommodation attracts Lean equipment that prioritizes profitability efficiency and flexible scalability
- Dedicated servers offer a stronger performance and safety for heavy and compliance loads
- Infrastructure options increasingly formed by cost, support and sustainability
A new study of one of the best web accommodation providers reveals how IT leaders are weighing compensation between virtual private servers and dedicated servers, with decisions formed with cost pressures and long -term infrastructure planning.
The 1,000 executive liquid survey shows that the accommodation options in 2025 are being made for both growth and resilience and technical performance.
The performance remains the leader, however, with 36% of respondents saying that it was their main consideration, slightly ahead of the cost of 35%.
Support an important factor
Dedicated server users were more likely to cite performance and safety, while VPS users bowed towards affordability and scalability.
VPS users were also more likely than users dedicated to anticipating their current environments, with 71% versus 64%.
As expected, support remains an important factor in the election. Almost 80% said technical support 24/7 was extremely important or solid consideration.
Carrie Wheeler, president of Liquid Web, told Techradar Pro: “Do not underestimate the value of the support throughout the day, it is the safeguard that converts the technological challenges into victories of activity time.”
More than a third reported impact interruptions in the business due to delayed or inappropriate support.
Two out of five leaders admitted having delayed product launch because their infrastructure was not ready.
The live chat and telephone support remain the most preferred response channels, while only 15% would first turn into AI chatbots or self -service portals.
Workload differences also play a factor. The dedicated servers were more likely to house databases and electronic commerce platforms, while VPS implementations leaned towards web applications, test environments and game servers.
Almost half of the dedicated server adopters indicated a stronger and stable performance as the reason for their choice.
Sustainability and compliance are growing concerns. 39% said the environmental impact had an influence on infrastructure options, with 75% prepared to pay more for a certified solution of low carbon accommodation.
85% of respondents also cited compliance as essential.
The general conclusion seems to suggest that VPS accommodation continues to attract more thin equipment and conscious organizations of the budget, while dedicated servers are chosen for workloads that require control, stability and safety.
“Infrastructure options clearly reflect commercial priorities. Whether you use VPs or dedicated servers, data show that infrastructure is not just a technical decision, it is strategic.” Ryan Macdonald, Director of Web Liquid Technology added.
With almost half of the planning infrastructure changes within the year, the balance between the cost, the performance and the support seems to remain a defining factor.
