The Cleveland Browns are resorting to the rookie seafood Dillon Gabriel this week against the Minnesota Vikings in London, since chief coach Kevin Stefanski already shakes things in the position after a start of 1-3.

It is a movement for which the 40 -year -old veteran appeared blind.

“Listen, I think I said it on Sunday, every time you are in this league, everyone is always being evaluated,” Flacco said, through Pro Football Talk. “The work of the field marshal is to help your team win the football games. Therefore, I do not know if it expects it, but we listen, Kevin and I can have a good conversation. It is not like anything that was super long or prolonged like this. But, I reached the point, we had a good conversation about it, and it is what it is.”

Flacco will move to QB2, supporting Gabriel in London, while Sheders, Gabriel’s rookie companion remains the third in the depth table.

While the entire talk was about the two rookies taken in the NFL 2025 draft, especially after Sanders was taken in the fifth round in a shocking way, Stefanski made clear in the training camp that Flacco was the headline after going through practices.

But through four games this season, Flacco has launched only two touchdowns at six interceptions, completing only 58.1% of its passes in the process. As a result, the Browns offensive averages only 14 points per game.

Now, serving as support is not what Flacco had in mind, but he is ready to help Gabriel in any way possible.

“I think the best way to help him is to continue working with a good mentality every day and provide that positive energy and see what he needs on his part,” Flacco explained. “Listen, he is interested in that. He is ready to leave. I am sure that he is very excited about this opportunity. It shows that he takes it seriously just because of the way he studies and his intention in the meeting rooms and in the field of practice.”

Flacco joined the Browns this season, the same team that miraculously took to the Playoffs 2023 that earned him the award to the return player of the year. He is a Super Bowl winner at AFC North, although with the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent most of his career.

Given his pedigree, Flacco is disappointed how he has acted to start the season despite being ready if necessary in a backup role.

“I think every situation is unique,” he said. “And I think you emotions about it, so it is difficult, at the time, take advantage of those experiences.”

Flacco will be on the sidelines watching how Gabriel faces the Vikings, who fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin, Ireland, in week 4, 24-21.
