In a recent interview with Outkick, ESPN’s university soccer analyst Paul Finebaum announced that he is considering leaving his role for a long time for the Senate.
The 70 -year -old said that after the murder of Charlie Kirk, he began to reconsider his priorities and received “a little more interest.”
“I spent four hours numb talking about things that I didn’t care. And he continued building during that weekend,” Finebaum told Clay Travis from Outkick. “I felt very empty doing what I was doing that day.”

Finebaum would hardly be the first remarkable name in sports to enter politics. More recently, Mark Teixeira announced his Congress campaign.
Senator Tommy Tuberville, Republican from Alabama, jumped from the University football line to Capitol Hill in 2021, and gave as close to ending for Finalbaum as it could come.
“Paul is smart. He loves the country,” Tuberville said in the “War Room” podcast. “Once again, I have been a friend of mine for a long time. I have not talked to him. I did an interview with him, 30 minutes, about two months ago face to face. It went well.
“I tell you that he has an identification of 100% name in Alabama. He would have many big people behind him. He would be a force in the race if he decided to enter it. In a somewhat ironic way, Finebaum said Outkick Outkick that Tuberville’s seat could open his career by the governor of Alabama. After confirming that Bruce Pearl recently retired was not interested in the Tuberville seat, Finebaum “began to think about this.”
Finebaum also said he trusted Tim Tebow following the murder of Kirk.
