Thailand will extend its ETF offer beyond Bitcoin, says the regulator: Bloomberg

The Thailand market regulator says that the country is working to expand its feed plans quoted in exchange (ETF) beyond Bitcoin Bloomberg reported Thursday.

The Bag and Securities and Securities Securities Commission will allow local mutual funds and institutions to issue these funds under the rules, the Secretary General of BudsarGogoon Porn of the SEC said Wednesday, citing an interview on Wednesday.

“Our possibility is now to expand the criteria for cryptography, as a cryptocurrency basket,” said Pornanong. “We want to have a broader supply of these cryptographic assets in the ETFs.”

Thailand is trying to appeal to young investors who want some cryptocurrencies in their portfolios as a diversification tool, added Pornanong.

The country has also advanced in its digital asset plans through “G-Takens”, a tokenized form of government ties.
