Cam Schlittler became the first player in the history of MLB to launch eight goals and hit 12 without allowing a walk in the postseason on Thursday night, but even he needed help from his defense.
The historical jewel of the rookie catapulted the New York Yankees to the American League Division series, eliminating their archirrival Boston Red Sox in the process.
No one knew what to wait outside the right, given Thursday was only his 16th beginning of the MLB after being called on July 9. But when he went to the field for the eighth entrance, Yankees fans knew they were seeing something special.

McMahon came out unharmed, and Schlittler withdrew Trevor Story to complete the entrance and excursion.
The red socks had their own rookie starting in Connelly early, but the Yankees reached him, and the defense of the older averages did not do many favorites when the Yankees put four races in the fourth entrance.
Amed Rosario, in the game for the left -handed confrontation against the former, arrived with a single RBI to put the Yankees on the board first.
